Review: Very few books have brought me so deep into the depths of nausea as this one. I have often mentioned a main charateristic of how I rate my books is their ability to make me feel something real, it is an indicator that something has been written that is actively moving me, challenging me, allowing me to grow, or change. This book in particular led me mostly to feelings of nausea, disgust, and shock. However, it’s satircal nature also led to some dark, but witty and smart, moments of humor. A Certain Hunger is a fantastic read, you feel every emotion (no matter how grotesque) from page to page. Summers has solidified herself as a powerful and masterful writer with this novel. Well-researched, confident, sharp, and mysterious. I highly recommend this book.
